I think the image association here is methodically the best of the learning apps I have. However: It is a bit feature lacking, you can't sellect to only do one lesson type for example. Some of the imagery is a bit too vague or criptic especially for concepts. Definitely worth trying, probably worth waiting a few updates before buying the full version though.

I like this app a lot. It's great for vocab, and has a fun way of teaching it. It also utilises a variety of methods to alleviate the repetition and boredom. My biggest complaint is the notifications. I've literally just used the app, and halfway through my lesson a notification came up on my phone to use the app. It's more than a little needy!

Brilliant app for learning vocabulary. It's got a good range of topics and for the free version, allows you to start multiple pathways. It uses kana and kanji but introduces it gradually. Doesn't teach you grammar but that's fine. For Japanese combine it with Duolingo/ Memrise/ Lingodeer and this can really bolster the rate at which you learn. Premium should be cheaper, I can't justify that even though I'd love the features and to support it.
