About this app
The Gemini app is an AI assistant. If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.
The Gemini app is available only on Android phones with 2 GB of RAM or more, running Android 10 and up.
This official app is free of charge. Gemini gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models on your phone so you can:
- Get help with writing, brainstorming, learning, and more
- Summarise and find quick info from Gmail or Google Drive
- Use text, voice, photos and your camera to get help in new ways
- Say “Hey Google” to ask Gemini for help with what’s on your phone screen
- Make plans with Google Maps and Google Flights
If you have access to Gemini Pro it will be right here in the Gemini app.

Just can not interrupt it. Settings are correct and have been checked multiple times, everything is set correctly. Lots of people are having this problem and I have had it for months, gemini just won't stop talking so I have to pick up my phone anyway so the whole hands-free interaction is useless. Simply can't use it like this.

Honestly, this is crazily good compared to the original Google assistant but it's still missing a few things that are simple and easy to use! There are loads of examples. Just watch tons of YouTube tutorials. Speaking of tutorials, when I ask for a code tutorial it has to read every single last word and dash where I just wanted to read out the explanation. Can you please have a select and speak when we want the system to read it out aloud instead of read out every single last bit

The models are great, but the app is horrible. particularly the way it takes you back to the top of a chat when you leave and come back - desperately needs a way to skip to the end, rather than animating a scroll when you send a message, which can take a minute for long chats. Also, needs a retry button - sometimes the response just disappears, and then you hit a rate limit (with premium) asking it to try again.
